Hello Darlings!
I am a member of a fun social network-esque online community
called Influenster. In Influenster’s own words, “Influenster is a place for
culture junkies to come together and share their unique opinions of products
and experiences.” From earning badges (I am a sucker for badges- Foursquare
anyone?) based on your experiences, to snagging free products that you would
like to try, it is an entertaining, interactive site that integrates well with
the blogging experience.
In late February I was sent a “Sweetheart VoxBox” that was full of four great products for me to test out. Luckily for me, I ended up loving each one!
Olay Fresh Effects: Va-Va-Vivid Powered Contour Cleansing System.
I have tried just about every available cleaning brush there
is, with the exception of the super high-end models. While I have liked quite a
few of the brushes, I never felt that they perfectly reached all of the areas
on my face that I would have liked. Cue the Olay Va-Va-Vivid system. The
triangular brush is perfect for getting to all of the tiny crevices on your
face that oil tends to get trapped, like around your nose. It is also small
enough to fit into you T-Zone without getting cleanser in your eyes, and a
great size to throw into a travel back for taking on vacation! While I did like
the effect that the Shine, Shine, Go Away cleanser had on my skin, I am very
particular about the cleansers I use on my face. If the Shine, Shine, Go Away
cleanser had been organic I would have been a much happier camper. That being
said, the cleansing brush is to die for. Go grab one; you will thank me for it!
Skinnygirl Daily On The Go Bars: Coco-Nut with Peanut Butter
I love granola bars that you can just throw in your bag for
a day out. I am one of those people who tend to get cranky when I get hungry,
so a good protein bar that tastes good and isn’t overwhelming full of sugar and
fat is a lifesaver for my stomach and my friends. The Skinnygirl On The Go Bars
are such a lovely pick-me-up and are quite filling. I had a Coco-Nut with
Peanut Butter bar in my VoxBox and it was DELICIOUS. I am not usually a coconut
fan, but the coconut with peanuts, almonds, and oats was a great combination
that contained eight grams of protein, five grams of fiber, and only eight
grams of sugar; not bad for a bar of only 180 calories.
I have used the same Secret deodorant for as long as I can
remember- same scent, same solid, it is my go-to. However, when I tried out Secret
Clinical Strength Stress Response Deodorant my mind was blown. I first tested
it out when apartment shopping in Denver, something that endlessly stresses me
out. I was walking around town in unseasonably warm weather, worrying about
price points and pet policies, (my darling Tink is moving with me, of course)
and I didn’t break a sweat. Impressed, I decided to put the deodorant to the
ultimate test, my 105-degree hot power yoga class. As is normal, I was
streaming with sweat everywhere on my body, except
my underarms. Now, I have no idea how this miracle product staved off
sweating in a HOT YOGA class, but I am officially a convert.
If you follow my Instagram, you might know that my natural
hair texture is a bit wild, with a mind of its own. I call it curly, but
depending on what it feels like doing on any particular day, I have anywhere in
between ringlets and beachy waves. However, despite the mass of hair I have, it
is incredibly fine, so I have issues with volume. The Not Your Mother’s
Texturing Sea Salt Spray is a fabulous product for my hair. I always love the
extra-oomph that seawater gives my hair at the beach, and this spray that is infused
with Dead Sea Salt and Sea Kelp perfectly mimics the
I-just-got-back-from-the-beach-and-look-incredible vibe. This will be a staple
in my summer beauty regime!
I’m sorry for the lengthy post but these products were so
fabulous I felt like I shouldn’t skimp on the details! Each of these brands has
a strong social media presence so be sure to check them out, and tell them I
sent you!
