Hello Darlings!
From the first day I stepped onto a mat I knew I was meant
to be a yoga instructor. It was one of those gut feelings that is
simultaneously terrifying and exhilarating, so intense that you want to push it
under the rug and ignore it. I did just that for a while, I pursued a desk job
that sounded wonderful on paper but in actuality was a bit suffocating
(although I did like the outfits).
This One-Legged King Pigeon pose looks a bit silly as I'm cheesing into the camera! |
When I decided to take the plunge, follow my heart, and move
out to Colorado, a big factor on where I wanted to live was all about which
yoga teacher trainings would be available. I knew I wanted to focus on
children, both in the womb and after they make their debuts into this world. My
mom did yoga exercises to my siblings and me when we were infants, and I really
believe in the health benefits. I also love children, I’m always happy when I
have a child on my hip, as their joy is contagious. Combine that love with my
(sometimes awkward) hypermobility that allows me to move as a child might, and a life
path of being a prenatal and children’s yoga instructor fits perfectly.
So, the big reveal: I’ve been accepted into an intensive 200 hour teacher
training course here in Denver, that starts in September! Also, I’ve decided to
add on three separate certifications for prenatal, children’s, and restorative
yoga that clock in at 25 hours each. So, essentially, I am going to be
incredibly busy in the best way possible. I’m incredibly nervous and yet so
excited and can’t wait to start this new chapter in my life and share it with
you all!
What I would like to know from you, my darling readers, is
what you would like to see yoga-wise here on ChickadeeSays. I have been planning
on expanding my fitness-related posts and this is the perfect opportunity to do
so. Don’t worry, all of this will be in addition to my regular recipe,
cocktail, DIY, and Tinker posts!
What would you like to see most? Pose how-tos? Yoga philosophy? Sequencing?
A day in the life of a yogi? I would love your input in the comments below!
