I love the holiday season. Indulgent baking, amazing cocktails, and delicious scents are winter staples. Unfortunately, since last Christmas I have moved apartments and while I am in a much better area of Denver I no longer have the space for a giant Christmas tree that I’m used to having!
I miss the smell that a huge pine tree creates in my space, (yes- I know it is only the second of December!) so I decided to recreate it on the stove top!
What you’ll need:
Pine scraps from a tree, wreath, or snipped from outside
A Ripe Orange
1 Teaspoon Whole Cloves
1 Teaspoon Whole Allspice
Water
1. Using a very sharp knife or a vegetable peeler, create strips of orange peel. The oils in the skin will help to diffuse the scent so the riper the orange the better!
2. Combine all ingredients in a pot. Adding enough water to cover the organic matter.
3. Set on a stove burner at a low heat, allow to simmer. You can add extra water as necessary!
4. Enjoy!
